Tribal art; an early 20th century Ogoni (Nigeria) wooden Puppet, with turning head, articulated arms and jaw, the whole decorated with traces of pigmentation, 83cm long. Provenance: from the puppet collection of puppeteer Francis Redvers (1899-1978). Francis entertained the troops during WWII working for ENSA, as well as appearing on the BBC in 1939 and giving a performance to Queen Mary 1941.
